A smile over cracked lips

A smile over cracked lips.

He remembers.

I remember! Heh, as if I were there.

She is beautiful though. Well, from what I can remember anyway. Of course we could be looking at two completely different images. I don't think so though.

Her hair is long and waves down over her shoulders. It frames a porcelain smile; her cheeks as smooth as silk.

Her doe like eyes never ceased to captivate a glance. Which I'm certain had caused a bit of trouble on more than one occasion.

How could you not look though? Her smile is magical yet its only the beginning of her beauty. Her nurturing ways make up the rest.

Her kindness and giving nature has played such an enormous role in her attractiveness.

Now, I have never been there in person but, I can imagine and I'm sure that he could attest that a mere touch is enough to put the most troubled mind at ease. Stay a simple whisper or gaze.

There was never a noble deed. She never went out of her way at all. She just was. Where there was sorrow, her silliness brought joy and laughter. And when it was cold, her words, lovely and benevolent, brought a calm blanket of warmth that wrapped itself abound.

I think he might have needed that; looking back on it all. I suppose one could say that she is the single most prominent thing that molded him into who he is today.

Not some previous heartache. Not his travels, his education, or spiritual insight. It wasn’t friends gained, lost, and gained again. It wasn't the warring, the rebuilding and vengeance had. I don’t even believe it was the fact that his people were burned, village razed, nor family butchered.

It was just … her. I mean not 'just' her but … Her.
